Problem Solving

Every Friday I give students a Problem Solving Response. I grade them over the following things:

Notice/Wonders are listed
Question is restated in your own words (author's purpose)
Starting points are listed
Tools are identified
Models are present
Labels are correct
Calculations are correct
Solution is written in a sentence
Provided evidence-based explanations
Math vocabulary is included

The following prompt is an example of what I want to see and reads:

"Marion wants to rent a canoe to go on a lake. The cost is $2.00 plus $1.50 for each hour. Make a table showing how much it would cost to rent a canoe for 1,2,3,and 4 hours. Marion has $14.00. What is the greatest number of hours she can rent the canoe?"
